Dolomite

Dolomite CaMg(CO3)2 is a carbonate mineral that consists of calcium, magnesium and aluminum carbonate and has long been used as a source of calcium and magnesium for animal feed. Dolomite can play an effective role as a buffer in controlling pH in the rumen of ruminants due to the presence of magnesium in the form of carbonate. The use of dolomite in livestock feeding is economically, so that with minimum cost it can provide a major part of livestock’s need for these two elements. Adding calcium carbonate and dolomite in animal feed, according to the results of the research, increases the quality and quantity of milk and increases the growth rate of the animals. Dolomite is very important for dairy cows.
beneficial of effects dolomite in animal feed
Rumen pH control
Supplying calcium and magnesium needed by the livestock and preventing negative effects caused by deficiency of calcium and magnesium
Improving the activity of enzymes and hormones in the livestock (the role of Mg as a cofactor in the structure of many enzymes)
